The Mausoleum of Jose Alfredo Jiménez was built on November 23, 1988 to commemorate his 25th death anniversary.
The peculiar tomb consists of a giant hat and a sarape made with colored mosaics, where you can read the titles of his greatest hits.
In the sarape there are the titles of 117 songs and there are 91 blank spaces that are his unpublished songs.
All the tombs are oriented towards the entrance of the museum , except that of Jose Alfredo Jímenez and his mother, who are facing the west, as their song says "Then I will turn around and leave with the sun when the afternoon dies."
The hat has a cross made up of 113 blue crystals, this represents the room number of the London clinic where the singer died.
